ALBANY — The Linn County Planning & Building Department issued 41 land use permits in October, director Steve Wills told Commissioners Roger Nyquist and Will Tucker Tuesday morning.

Commissioner Sprenger was not present.

There were 303 total permits issued in October, including six single family dwellings, four manufactured dwellings and 223 permits for dwelling additions or alterations and two permits for accessory buildings. There were three commercial permits issued.

There were 16 total permits issued for contract cities, including two for new family dwellings and one for a manufactured dwelling. There were eight commercial permits issued.

There were 13 new code enforcement cases and eight cases were closed.

Wills said activity is slowing down and he plans to use staff to catch up on code enforcement issues and for code updates for the department.

Wills said the Planning Commission will discuss a proposed code text amendment concerning large confined animal feeding operations on Nov. 21.

In other business, the commissioners:

  • Approved an easement agreement for $58,333 with David Gretzon for property on Goldfish Farm Road. Roadmaster Wayne Mink said only three more easements are needed before the road improvement project can begin.
  • Granted Commissioner Tucker with a voting proxy for the Nov. 16 meeting of the Council of Forest Trust Land Counties.
  • Announced the board will not meet on Nov. 14 because all three commissioners will be attending the annual Association of Oregon Counties conference in Eugene.
  • Approved changes to the county’s Paid Family Leave program to coincide with new state and federal guidelines.
