Priceboro Fire

Updated: 8:45 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 6

HARRISBURG — Linn County Sheriff Michelle Duncan said today that the Priceboro Fire east of Harrisburg is continuing to be fought by nearly 210 firefighters, as the fire moves into “mop up” status. Fire crews are likely to be on site continuing to address the fire for the next week or so, to keep the fire controlled and address any flare-ups.

There are tree snags and other dangerous debris in the area. Fire crews will be using chainsaws as they down necessary trees. Residents returning are advised to expect this activity, and use caution on their properties and in the area. Both weather and fire conditions can change at a moment’s notice, so for the protection of area residents, all evacuation alert levels remain unchanged.

Properties on all sides of the roadway beginning at 33496 Mt. Tom Drive, east to include Wildwood Estates Loop and south from 33496 Mt. Tom Drive to the Linn-Lane County Line remain in a LEVEL 2: BE SET evacuation alert.

Level 2: BE SET notices mean there is still a significant danger to your area, and while you may return to your residence, you should be ready to evacuate, should the circumstance change, at a moment’s notice. Additionally, fire crews and heavy equipment are still actively on the roadways and in the area. Travel safely and cautiously on roadways, and pull over or stop as emergency crews pass by.

The area of Mt. Tom Drive from the west boundary of 33496 Mt. Tom Drive, west to I-5 and south to the Linn-Lane County Line remain in a LEVEL 1: BE READY Evacuation level.
